Field Notes
The pre-drywall window is the last point at which every audio rough-in decision can be verified and corrected without a change order. Missing a speaker location or a wire pull after drywall means cutting and patching. This standard defines what has to be confirmed before that window closes.
The sign-off requirement is not bureaucratic. It is protection for the GC, the AV tech, and the client. When there is a dispute later about whether a speaker location was approved, the pre-drywall sign-off log settles it. We require it on every project.
