Keypad placement is a decision that looks simple until the interior designer and the AV integrator disagree about where a button station belongs. This amendment defines the process for resolving those conflicts before drywall is hung, not after the finish hardware has been ordered.
The most frequent keypad rough-in mistake is a box that is too shallow for the backplate. An extra inch of box depth costs nothing at rough-in. A surface mount adapter to compensate for a shallow box is visible in a finished room. This document specifies the correct depth for every keypad type we install.
