Authorized Autonomic Dealer. NJ / NJ, NY, and CT
Restrepo Innovations is a fully authorized Autonomic dealer serving Bergen County and the NJ/NY/CT NJ, NY, and CT. As an Elite Pro Crestron Dealer and HTA Luxury Certified integrator, we are one of a small number of firms in the region with the Crestron programming depth to deploy Autonomic at the level it was designed for. not just connected, but fully exploited.
Autonomic is not a consumer product. It is a professional audio distribution platform designed for integrators who demand more than a streaming speaker can deliver. Every system we install is commissioned, programmed, and handed off with a documented configuration and remote monitoring in place.
What Autonomic Is
Pro-Grade Streaming Server Architecture
Autonomic is a professional-grade distributed audio platform whose core component is the Mirage Media Server (MMS). a rackmount streaming server that aggregates every audio source (streaming services, local libraries, internet radio, line-level inputs) into a single managed environment and distributes independent streams to as many as 50 simultaneous zones. Every zone can play a different source at a different volume with no interaction or interference between zones.
The architectural difference between Autonomic and consumer platforms is fundamental. Where a platform like Sonos distributes intelligence across individual speaker nodes (each device is a processing unit), Autonomic centralizes all intelligence in the server. This means consistent performance regardless of zone count, a single point of management for firmware and configuration, and no dependency on any individual endpoint device for system continuity.
For luxury residential projects. large estates, sophisticated listening environments, hospitality-quality service areas. the centralized server model delivers a level of reliability and control depth that distributed consumer platforms cannot match.
Why We Specify Autonomic
Why Professionals Choose Autonomic Over Consumer Platforms
The decision to specify Autonomic over a consumer streaming platform is not about dismissing what consumer platforms do well. Sonos, for instance, is excellent in the right context. It is about recognizing what the project actually demands and choosing accordingly.
Centralized management. Every Autonomic system is administered from a single server interface. Firmware updates, zone configuration, source management, and diagnostics all happen at the server level. There is no going device-by-device across a 20-zone home to push an update or diagnose an issue. For us as integrators, and for our clients as system owners, this is a substantial operational advantage.
Stable API for Crestron programming. Autonomic’s LEAN protocol is specifically designed for control system integration. The API is stable, well-documented, and purpose-built for the kind of deep programming that our Crestron systems require. When we program an Autonomic integration into a Crestron system, we can expose every feature. transport controls, source selection, metadata, favorites, zone grouping. on any Crestron interface we design.
Audiophile credibility. Autonomic’s hardware signal chain is built to a standard that serious listeners notice. The digital-to-analog conversion, the power supply design, and the output stages in Mirage server amplifier units are not afterthoughts. For clients with dedicated listening rooms, reference speaker systems, or genuinely discriminating ears, Autonomic delivers at a level that consumer platforms do not.
Centralized Architecture
All audio intelligence lives in the rack. No zone can take the system down. Administration, diagnostics, and updates happen at a single point. not per-device.
Unmatched Crestron Depth
LEAN protocol gives our Crestron programs access to every Autonomic function. The result is a Crestron UI that feels native to the audio system. not bolted on.
True 50-Zone Independence
Up to 50 zones playing different sources simultaneously with no interaction, no latency dependencies, and no zone-count performance degradation.
Pro Signal Quality
D/A conversion and output stages designed to audiophile standards. not consumer-grade components in an attractive enclosure.
The Hardware
Mirage Media Servers (MMS)
The Autonomic Mirage Media Server is the backbone of every system we install. Available in several configurations, the MMS line scales from smaller residential deployments to large estate and commercial installations:
MMS-2e
Entry-level Mirage server handling up to 8 zones. Ideal for estates where Autonomic’s Crestron integration depth is the priority but zone count is modest. Full LEAN protocol support.
MMS-5e
The flagship residential and light commercial server: up to 50 independent zones, full streaming service support, local library aggregation, and simultaneous independent stream management. Our most commonly specified unit for large estates.
Mirage Amplifiers
Rack-mounted multi-channel amplifiers designed to pair directly with MMS servers. Integrated power management, thermal monitoring, and consistent output across all channels at load.
MMS Endpoint Clients
Network audio endpoints that receive streams from the MMS and connect to third-party amplifiers or powered speakers. Used where the amplification is already specified or where high-end outboard amplification is preferred.
All Mirage hardware is rack-mountable and designed for equipment room installation. it lives in the AV rack alongside Crestron processors, network equipment, and other infrastructure, not in a living space. The hardware is serviceable by us remotely in most cases, and fully accessible in the rack when physical intervention is required.
Elite Pro Crestron & Autonomic
Native Crestron Integration: Why It Matters That We Are Elite Pro
Autonomic and Crestron are a purpose-built combination. Autonomic developed the LEAN (Lightweight Embedded Autonomic Networking) protocol specifically to enable deep, stable, two-way communication with Crestron control systems. This is not a third-party driver bolted onto a consumer API. it is a native integration protocol engineered for the professional control ecosystem.
What LEAN enables: Full bidirectional control of every Autonomic function. transport (play, pause, skip, seek), volume per zone, source selection, zone grouping, favorites, queue management, and real-time metadata display (album art, track, artist). all available on any Crestron touchpanel, keypad, or remote we program.
As an Elite Pro Crestron Dealer, we hold Crestron’s highest dealer tier. This means our programmers have completed Crestron’s advanced training curriculum, our company has passed Crestron’s business and technical vetting, and we have access to Crestron engineering support resources that lower-tier dealers do not. When we integrate Autonomic into a Crestron system, we are not working around limitations. we are using the full platform.
The practical result for our clients is a home automation system where music is a first-class citizen. Press “Dinner Party” on the Crestron touchpanel and the Autonomic server queues the right playlist in the right zones, sets volumes appropriately for each space, and adjusts as guests move through the home. all without anyone opening an app or speaking to a voice assistant. The experience is consistent because the integration is genuine.
Zone scenes are a particular strength of the Crestron/Autonomic combination. We program custom macros that handle complex zone-state management. all-on, all-off, party mode, guest mode, outdoor only. with single-button control from any interface in the home. These are not features available on consumer platforms regardless of how they are integrated.
System Design
Multi-Zone Architecture for Large Estates
Designing an Autonomic multi-zone system for a large estate requires the same engineering discipline we apply to the Crestron control system, the network infrastructure, and the AV distribution. We begin every project with a zone-by-zone audio plan that defines source requirements, amplification, speaker selection, control touchpoints, and the programming logic that ties it all together.
Zone independence is the defining feature of the Autonomic architecture. In a 30-zone estate, the master suite, pool area, wine cellar, home gym, kitchen, formal living room, library, and every guest bedroom can each play a different source at a different volume simultaneously, with no buffering conflicts, no bandwidth contention, and no dependency between zones. When one zone fails (it happens with any technology), the other 29 continue operating without interruption.
Speaker and amplification selection is specification-driven. We work with architectural speakers from Sonance and Origin Acoustics paired with Autonomic’s Mirage amplifiers or outboard amplification for premium listening spaces. In outdoor environments, we specify weatherized speakers and ensure the amplification handles the impedance and thermal requirements of exterior installation. Every specification is documented in the project record.
Network design is integral to every Autonomic deployment. We coordinate the network architecture. working with Araknis or Ruckus networking infrastructure. to ensure the audio data paths are stable, the Crestron control path is isolated, and the streaming services have adequate bandwidth headroom across all simultaneous zones.
Content Sources
Streaming Sources Supported
One of Autonomic’s genuine strengths is the breadth of streaming sources it aggregates at the server level. Every source below is available to every zone independently and simultaneously. zone one can play Tidal while zone two plays Spotify while zone three plays a local FLAC library, all at the same time, managed entirely by the Mirage server:
High-Res Streaming
Tidal (MQA and FLAC), Amazon Music HD, and Spotify all supported natively. For clients with audiophile-grade systems, Tidal Masters playback through the Autonomic D/A chain delivers perceptibly better results than consumer alternatives.
Mainstream Services
Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, iHeart Radio, and TuneIn internet radio aggregated at the server and accessible from any Crestron interface in the home.
Local Library
DLNA/UPnP local library support for clients with high-resolution local music collections. FLAC, ALAC, WAV, and other lossless formats streamed directly from NAS or server storage.
AirPlay 2
AirPlay 2 support for direct streaming from Apple devices to any zone or group. useful for guests or family members who prefer the Apple ecosystem over the Crestron interface.
