The Offer: We will come to your home or property, walk the existing AV, lighting, network, and control systems with you, and give you our honest assessment in person. No written report. No charge. No obligation to hire us afterward. This is offered across NJ, NY, and CT on top of every service line we run. and we mean it.

What This Is

A free, in-person walkthrough of whatever technology lives in your home or on your property. We come out, you walk us through what is there, and we tell you what we see. what is working, what is failing, what is past end-of-life, what is wired well, what is wired poorly, and where the real risks and opportunities are. The conversation happens on site, in real time, while we are looking at the equipment together.

You do not get a written report. You get our read, delivered out loud, with the system in front of us. You can ask questions. You can point at things. You can write down whatever you want to remember. When we leave, you have a clearer picture of what you actually own and what it would take to make it work better. or to replace it cleanly.

That is the whole offer. There is nothing hidden behind it.

Why We Do This for Free

Most of the people who call us about an existing system are working from incomplete information. The previous integrator may be out of business. The original drawings may be missing. The control system may have stopped getting updates three years ago. The homeowner may have inherited the property and never been given a tour of how anything works.

A walkthrough closes that gap faster than any other tool we have. It is also the cleanest way for us to figure out whether we are the right fit for the project. and whether the project is even something that needs an integrator at all. Sometimes the answer is a $200 fix. Sometimes it is a complete redesign. Either way, you get a straight read, and we get a real look at the property.

We charge for the work that follows, not for the conversation that leads to it.

What We Look At

Whatever is in the house or on the property that is relevant. The list usually includes:

  • Equipment rack and control processor. What platform are you on, what generation, is it under support, is the firmware current.
  • Touchpanels, keypads, and remotes. Whether they actually work, whether the user interface still matches what is installed, and whether anything is end-of-life.
  • Lighting control. Lutron HomeWorks, RadioRA, Ketra, Colorbeam, or whatever else is in the panel. Scene logic, dimmer health, integration depth.
  • Network. Switch, access points, ISP handoff, segmentation, signal coverage. The number one cause of "everything is broken" calls is almost always the network.
  • Audio and video distribution. Matrix switchers, amplifiers, speakers, displays, theater gear, outdoor AV.
  • Security and surveillance. Cameras, NVR, alarm integration. We are not your alarm company, but we will tell you what we see.
  • Wiring infrastructure. What is run, what is labeled, what is reusable, what should never have been done that way.

If the property has unusual systems. pool and spa controls, generator transfer, motorized shading, integrated HVAC, gate and access control, motorized skylights, custom lighting effects. we will look at those too. We have seen most of it.

What You Get

A verbal assessment, delivered while we are standing in front of the equipment. We will tell you:

  • What is healthy and should be left alone.
  • What is failing or close to it, and roughly what it would cost to address.
  • What is past end-of-life and should be replaced before it strands you.
  • Where the network or wiring is the actual root cause of problems being blamed on something else.
  • What you could improve cheaply versus what would require a more involved scope.
  • Whether you need a full redesign, a targeted upgrade, a service contract, or just a calmer integrator on call when something breaks.
  • Whether we are the right team for what you need. and if we are not, who we would call.

You will not get a glossy PDF. You will not get a multi-page deliverable. You will get the assessment, in person, in plain language, with the system right there. For most people, in most situations, that is more useful than a report.

What You Do Not Get (Honest Version)

You do not get a written report or a formal document. You do not get a scope of work, a line-item budget, a system design drawing, or a programming review on paper. Those are real deliverables that take real time to produce, and we charge for them. If you want a written follow-up after the walkthrough. a documented assessment, a design proposal, a programming audit. we are happy to quote that as a separate paid engagement. The walkthrough is what gets us there.

You also do not get a sales pitch. We do not push, we do not pressure, and we do not make up problems that are not there. If your system is fine, we will tell you it is fine.

Who This Is For

This is offered universally. We do not gate it by audience. That said, the people who tend to use it most:

  • Homeowners with an existing system that is acting up, aging out, or was inherited from a previous owner.
  • Realtors representing buyers or sellers in homes where the technology is part of the value. or part of the problem.
  • Home inspectors who want a deeper read on the AV, control, and network systems they are not contracted to evaluate in detail.
  • Builders, architects, and interior designers who want a sanity check on a system that an integrator on the project specified, installed, or is proposing.
  • Electricians and low-voltage contractors who are hitting the edge of their scope and want a control or network specialist to weigh in.
  • Estate managers and property managers running multiple homes and trying to standardize what works and retire what does not.
  • Hospitality and commercial owners. restaurants, boutique hotels, private clubs, corporate offices. with AV and control systems that need a second set of eyes.

If technology is part of how a property runs, and you want a straight read on what is actually there, this is for you.

How It Works

You call 201.405.2022 or fill out the contact form and tell us a little about the property. address, rough square footage, what is installed if you know, and what is prompting the conversation. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the walkthrough really free?

Yes. There is no charge for the walkthrough itself, and there is no obligation to hire us afterward. We walk the property, look at what is installed, and tell you what we see in plain language. If you want a written report or a formal scope of work after the walkthrough, that becomes a paid engagement. but the walkthrough that gets us there does not cost you anything.

What do you actually look at?

Whatever is relevant. Equipment rack, control processor, touchpanels and keypads, lighting control hardware, network gear, audio and video distribution, theater or media room setup, outdoor AV, security cameras, and any visible wiring infrastructure. We look for what is working, what is failing, what is past end-of-life, and where the largest risks or upgrade opportunities are.

Why no written report?

A real written assessment takes hours to produce and stands as a deliverable in its own right. We treat that as paid scope. The free walkthrough is a verbal conversation on site. you get our honest read in real time, you can ask questions, and we can show you exactly what we are pointing at. It is faster, more direct, and more useful for most people than a static document. If you want one in writing afterward, we are happy to quote it.

How long does it take?

Most walkthroughs take 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the size of the home or property and the complexity of the existing systems. Larger estates or commercial properties can run longer. We block the time we need; we do not rush through it.

Who is this for?

Homeowners with an existing system that is acting up or aging out. Realtors and home inspectors who want a second set of eyes. Builders, architects, designers, and electricians who want a sanity check on a system spec. Estate managers and property managers responsible for ongoing system performance. If technology is part of the property and you want a straight read on it, this is for you.

Do you offer this everywhere?

We cover New Jersey (Bergen, Essex, Morris, Passaic, Hudson, plus luxury towns including Alpine, Saddle River, Franklin Lakes, Short Hills, Tenafly), Connecticut (Fairfield and Litchfield counties. Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Westport, Stamford, Ridgefield), and New York (Westchester, Manhattan, and the Hamptons). Outside that radius we are open to a conversation but the walkthrough may carry a travel cost.

Will you try to sell me something during the walkthrough?

No. The walkthrough is a conversation, not a sales pitch. If we see something we can help with, we will say so. If we do not, we will tell you that too. If a different integrator is a better fit, we will name names. Our reputation is built on giving people a straight read. that is the entire point of offering this for free.

“The fastest way to make a smart decision about an existing system is to put a real integrator in front of it for an hour. We will do that for you, on the house, anywhere in our service area. The conversation costs you nothing. What you decide to do with it is up to you.” __EMDASH_PROTECT_0__
