Access control on a residential project is not an afterthought. When the landscape contractor is trenching for irrigation, that is also the window to place the gate operator conduit. Miss it, and you are cutting concrete later. This standard defines when each decision has to be made.
The intercom and access reader positions matter more than most people realize during design. A reader placed on the wrong side of a gate post, or an intercom that faces afternoon sun, creates problems that cannot be fixed without visible patching. We document the requirements so they get addressed at the right phase.
