Crestron Motorized Shading: Integration Fundamentals
Crestron’s motorized shading platform integrates roller, drapery, and exterior shading into a unified control system. and the rough-in decisions that enable that integration must be made at the CD phase.
About This Course
Crestron’s motorized shading platform integrates roller, drapery, and exterior shading into a unified control system. and the rough-in decisions that enable that integration must be made at the CD phase. This course covers Crestron shading hardware selection, pocket sizing, power and communication wiring, and integration with the broader home control system. Architects and interior designers leave with a specification-ready understanding of what Crestron shading requires from the building before walls close.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, attendees will be able to:
- Identify the Crestron motorized shading product families and explain the hardware differences between roller, drapery, and exterior shade systems.
- Specify pocket dimensions, header blocking, conduit, and power locations for Crestron shading rough-ins at the CD phase.
- Describe how Crestron shading integrates with lighting control and occupancy sensors to automate scene-based daylighting.
- Coordinate with the Crestron integrator on shading zones, fabric selection, and commissioning sequence to ensure design intent is preserved.
