Streaming & Cable · Trading Floor & Finance War Rooms
Many Feeds. Zero Buffering. Every Morning.
Quick Answer: Restrepo Innovations builds the live-feed display layer for trading floors, hedge fund war rooms, and finance command centers across NJ, NY, and CT. Multiple stable feeds on the wall at the same time, instant channel change, no app re-authentication, no surprise updates during market hours. Managed coaxial or IPTV headend where the room demands the dead-stable feel that consumer streaming cannot deliver.
There is a room in almost every fund where the cable box still wins. The wall has six to twelve displays. The morning starts at the open, the desk needs CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business, and a handful of position-specific feeds visible at the same time, and the trader at the desk needs to flip a channel in a quarter second. A consumer streaming app cannot do that. The app loads, it asks who is watching, it sometimes asks to log in again, and the trader has already missed the print.
What This Room Actually Needs
Multiple stable feeds. Each display runs a single, dedicated source. The wall does not depend on one streamer pulling six concurrent app sessions. If a single feed fails, the others keep going.
Instant channel change. One press, one second, on the screen. No app launch. No spinner. No reload.
No re-authentication during market hours. The system does not ask the trader to sign in at six AM. Authentication, if it happens at all, happens in the rack and gets handled by us before the open.
Predictable behavior under updates. Consumer streamers push automatic firmware and app updates on their own schedule. A trading wall cannot have a display silently restart in the middle of a Fed announcement. Managed sources let us control the update window.
Monitored uptime. Every feed reports health back. If a tuner drops a signal at three AM, we see it and have it back before the open. The trader walks in and the wall is already running.
The Architecture
The room runs on a managed headend at the rack, not on consumer streamers at the displays. Carrier feeds, satellite if the room needs international markets, and IPTV tuners for the specific channel set the desk runs. The signal is conditioned and distributed over coaxial or IPTV, and each display has its own dedicated decoder or set-top box rather than sharing a streamer. The control system, typically Crestron, exposes a single interface so a trader can flip the entire wall to a pre-built scene with one button when news breaks.
For rooms that need to mix sources, we add a managed streamer on a dedicated VLAN for the on-demand and replay work, and route that streamer through the same matrix. The carrier or IPTV feed stays the primary source. The streamer is a secondary, deliberately chosen path.
Why Crestron Runs the Wall
The control system is what makes the wall usable. Crestron lets us pre-build scenes that route the right feed to the right display on a single press. Open. Fed day. Earnings call. End-of-day. A trader does not navigate menus. They press the scene, the wall lays out the way the desk wants it, and the day starts. The same processor controls the lighting, the shades, the audio, and the climate of the room, so the wall is part of the same one-button workflow that runs everything else.
Crestron also gives us a clean way to lock the room. The processor is enterprise-managed. Updates ship on our schedule, not on a consumer app's schedule. The strongest manufacturer warranty in the category and the consolidated panel hardware keep replacement and support costs in line with what the COO of a fund expects.
Where We Build These Rooms
Hedge funds, family offices, and trading desks across Manhattan, Greenwich CT, Stamford, and northeast NJ ask for the same thing. The room may be three displays in a principal's office or fourteen displays on a desk. The infrastructure is the same. Conference rooms inside the same firms get the same wall treatment when the firm runs live news in the boardroom. Some private clients run a personal version of this layout in their home office or a basement war room. We build them all the same way.
How a Trading Floor Engagement Runs
Discover begins with the desk. Which traders, which feeds, which times of day. Design produces the source plan, the headend equipment list, the matrix routing, and the Crestron scene library. Integration is scheduled around market hours, with the cutover typically on a weekend so the desk opens on the new system without a missed bell. Support is ongoing through our Continuum tiers, with monitored health on every tuner and a documented response plan for the typical events.
Restrepo holds Elite Pro Crestron Dealer, HTA Luxury Certified, OSHA Certified, and Ubiquiti UISP and Pro Partner. The trading-floor work is judged by what the wall does at the open and how fast the room is back when it is not.
Run a desk. Build a room. We will keep the wall up.
